I'm Jacobus Daniel Marais, a Brisbane based visual artist working primarily in Charcoal and acrylics.
Working in the visual arts, I'm fascinated by visual storytelling and communication through symbols and visual cues. With my personal work, I try to capture mundane moments and recontextualize them in figurative forms to examine the overlooked, the smallest moments, and capture them in time through medium, process and a bit of over the top imagination.
